We’re so excited to reveal our collaboration with The British Museum with the launch of our collection exploring Indian art . It's a charming blend of art, history, and modern design that feels both timeless and fresh. We fell in love with the Museum’s Indian treasures, and these remarkable pieces sparked our imagination, leading us to create a collection that brings centuries‐old beauty right into your home.
At Deus Ex Gardenia, we focus on wallcoverings that capture the wonder of nature. Founded in 2022 by designer Katya Nappolini, our brand blends Katya’s decade of experience—working with renowned names like Etro, Liberty of London, Ralph Lauren, and Anthropologie—with a passion for color, pattern, and sustainability. We print everything in England on premium paper, ensuring our designs are both luxurious and kind to the environment. Staying true to our name, which means “God from the Garden,” we find endless inspiration in nature’s vibrant details and timeless charm.
Exploring The British Museum, first national public museum of the world, felt like stepping into a wonderland of cultural stories. Among its eight million objects, we were especially drawn to the Mughal‐era artworks, many of which aren’t usually on display. Their exquisite brushwork and lush depictions of foliage, birds, and elaborate borders instantly stole our hearts. We wanted to stay true to that magic, so we spent a lot of time perfecting every color and detail—down to the precise shade of green in a leaf—making sure our wallpapers honor the spirit of those original masterpieces while feeling fresh and approachable for today’s interiors.
The end result is our India Collection, which celebrates this creative heritage in three distinct ways:
- Series I: Richly layered botanicals that sweeps you into leafy canopies
- Series II: coming soon
- Series III: coming soon
We hope these designs spark joy, curiosity, and a renewed appreciation for the artistry of the past. It’s been a labor of love—and we can’t wait to see how you bring this enchanting slice of Indian history to life in your own spaces.
